Fotograf werden – den Beruf zum Hobby machen

Das ist der Wunsch von Vielen.

Und ja, wenn es dein Wunsch ist: mach es !!!
Du kannst alles erreichen!
Egal, wie viele Fotografen es schon gibt.

Und weißt du auch warum?
Weil du einzigartig bist und deine Bilder sind es auch.
Niemand sieht so, wie du siehst.
Niemand fühlt so, wie du fühlst.
Und deshalb macht keiner die Bilder so, wie du sie machst.

Bei mir war der Weg ein anderer – ich hatte nie den Wunsch, berühmt zu werden.
Ich wollte gesund werden, Zeit mit meinen Tieren verbringen, über meine Tiere berichten.
Geschichten erzählen.
Tiere wildlife beobachten, die Schönheit und den Charakter zeigen.

Inzwischen sind da allerdings so viele Dinge, die mich sehr nachdenklich stimmen.
Social Medias sind toll. Unglaublich tolle Menschen habe ich kennen gelernt. Man ist nie alleine und man ist immer informiert und inspiriert.
Aber die Hackordnung und der Ton sind mittlerweile eher was für die Dickhäutigen.
Das bin ich nicht – ich bin ne Mimose.

Gute Fotos machen ….

Aber was ist ein gutes Foto?

Für mich ist ein gutes Foto, wenn es eine Geschichte erzählt.
Wenn es sichtbar macht, was wir mit dem Auge nicht sehen. Wenn es Emotionen und Phantasien schafft.
Wenn es das, was ich liebe zeigt. Wenn mir die Stimmungen gefallen, die Farben.

Und da sind wir ja schon beim ersten Punkt.
Peter Meierhuber ist vielleicht Grottenolm-Fan, mich ziehen jetzt Grottenolme nicht in uferlose Entzückung.

Wie oft höre ich: „oh, was für ein schlechtes Bild!“

Wie kann ein Bild bitte schlecht sein?
Ein Bild kann unscharf sein, ja ok.
Aber heutzutage sind diese unscharfen Bilder voll im Trend und gehen mega ab.
Ich bin ehrlich: ich kann mit den unscharfen Bildern so gar nichts anfangen.
Das verwackelte Zeug ist für mich keine Fotografie, sondern eher Kunst.

Aber hey, es steht mir nicht zu zu sagen: wie schlecht ist dieses Bild
Und schon drei Mal nicht einen bösen Kommentar unter ein Bild zu schreiben, das meinem persönlichen Geschmack nicht entspricht.
Auch mag ich vielleicht denjenigen ganz dolle, der es fotografiert hat. Und es ist der Geschmack desjenigen.

Und da frage ich mich eben schon eine Weile, was sind das für Menschen, die das tun?
Und eben auch, mit welcher Berechtigung?

Wenn jemand keine Vögel mag oder Eulen – ja Leute, nichts wie weg.
Bild anschauen, drüber wundern wegen mir und weiter.
Muss man da drunter schreiben: ganz schlechtes Bild?

Ja ich auch Leute, ich auch ! Ich hätte mir hier ein super Sonnenaufgangslicht gewünscht. Die warme Sonne, die den Habicht ausleuchtet und den Hintergrund anleuchtet und ein tolles Bokeh entstehen lässt.
Leider kam halt im Morgenlicht kein Habicht….. !!!

Fotohütten sind ganz oft verpönt. Tarnnetze hingegen nicht.
Es kursiert das Gerücht, dass man sich in eine Fotohütte setzt und top Bilder hat.
Was für ein Quatsch…..
Aber sowas kommt immer von anderen Fotografen.
Bei diesem Bild war es sogar so, daß sich Gerüchte breit machten, ich hätte einen Falkner gefragt, ob er seinen Vogel dort hin setzt und ich Bilder machen kann.
Top secret: Vielleicht war er ja sogar ausgestopft….. (hier käme jetzt der Hand an die Stirn Smilie).

Da könnte man sich jetzt echt drüber totlachen aber das gab es tatsächlich auch.

Allen ernstes wurde im Netz behauptet (und nicht diskutiert, sondern behauptet), die Steinkäuze wären ausgestopft, weil die Beine nicht stimmen und bei manchen Bildern hätten sie sogar unterschiedlich lange Beine….. ah ähhhh ja
Ironie an: ich gehe da mit der Claudi und habe ne Tasche mit ausgestopften Steinkäuzen dabei. Claudi setzt die immer irgendwo hin und ich fotografiere die dann……

Ist das ausgesetzt? Ist das von der Mutter verlassen worden?
Das sieht aber gar nicht gesund aus und super dürr. Hat das Würmer oder womöglich eine Zecke?
All diese und andere Kommentare stehen wirklich zu Dutzenden unter einem Bild..
Ja ganz ehrlich? Selbst wenn ein Eichhörnchen eine Zecke hat und das kommt halt super oft vor, kein Fotograf rennt mit nem Kescher und ner Zeckenzange durch die Gegend und entfernt Zecken von Wildtieren.
Man entwickelt Bilder und überlegt sich schon allen ernstes was wieder für Kommentare kommen, wenn man die Zecke lässt, wo sie ist oder besser mit Photoshop entfernt …… Hilfeee

Eichhörnchen fotografieren

Am schlimmsten ist es aber in Fotogruppen oder Männer-Themen.
Da tun sich für mich Abgründe auf…….
Oder kommt mir das nur so vor?
Auf Fotoseiten weiß jeder Fotograf alles – richtig alles und der kommentiert auch direkt unter deinem Foto, daß du die Beugungsunschärfe hättest berechnen müssen….

Einer stellt ne nackte Frau ein…

… und jetzt nicht falsch verstehen. Es gibt unglaublich schöne Aktfotografie !
Ich persönlich kann jetzt zwar nicht verstehen, warum so viele Fotografen nackte Elsen fotografieren, bleibt mir verborgen aber ich möchte meine Gedanken darüber hier nicht teilen – und natürlich unter deren Bildern schon gar nicht

Nein, wieso auch?
Wenn einer nackte Elsen mag, soll er sie fotografieren, die fragen sich vielleicht, wie jemand Hunde fotografierne kann.

Aber das geht ja noch weiter …
Fotograf A postet ne Else. Nackt. Direkt ein Kommentar von Fotograf B.
Ganz schlechtes Bild.
Und dann wird auch noch über die Frau auf dem Bild ins Detail gegangen, mit Kommentaren, für die man sich manchmal schämt.
Die hat Pickel, leichten Bauchansatz, usw
Schaut man sich den Fotografen an…. aber gut, auch das würde ich niemals drunter schreiben.

Völlig gestellt. Wie oft muß ich das hören?

Ein Model ist natürlich nicht gestellt.
Sie steht ganz zufällig nackt neben dem Schloßbrunnen und wartet, daß ein Fotograf vorbei kommt.

Ein Pferd am Strand?
Wahnsinn, so natürlich die Stimmung… – das ist da auch einfach zufällig. So ein Pferd am Strand.

Ein Hund sitzt auf einem Felsen. Der kommt da einfach so vor, normal.

Wildlife, das ist ehrlich.
Da warten nicht 47 Geländewägen voller Fotografen auf ihren Einsatz …

Bitte wo ist das Problem, daß man ein Model neben einem Brunnen positioniert, ein Pferd an den Strand stellt, einen Hund auf einen Felsen…?
Daß man einfach die Bilder anderer akzeptiert?
Daß man andere Menschen/Fotografen respektiert?

Wenn jemand glaubt, meine Tiere und mich ganz genau zu kennen, soll er das glauben.
Ich kenne die meisten Fotografen übrigens nicht ganz genau.
Ihr Leben nicht, ihre Gefühle nicht, ihren Geschmack nicht und ich würde niemals solche oder ähnliche Behauptungen unter deren Bilder schreiben.
Aber meine Tiere kenne ich !!!

Wann war der Zeitpunkt, an dem all diese Hater in den Socials ihren Platz finden konnten?

Die Frage was ein gutes Bild ist, ist aber immer noch nicht beantwortet.

Auf Google findet man hier die generelle Lösung direkt auf Platz 1:

1. Wenn die Sonne lacht, nimm Blende acht. …
2. Bewegung mit offener Blende fotografieren. …
3. Offene Blende = unscharfer Hintergrund. …
4. Geschlossene Blende = große Schärfentiefe. …

For me, the path was different – I never wanted to be famous.
I wanted to get healthy, spend time with my animals, tell stories about my animals.

Watching animals in the wild, showing the beauty and character.

In the meantime, though, there are so many things that make me think a lot.
Social media is great. I have met unbelievably great people. You’re never alone and you’re always informed and inspired.
But the pecking order and tone are now more for the thick-skinned.
That’s not me – I’m a mimosa.

Taking good photos ….

But what is a good photo?

For me, a good photo is one that tells a story.
When it makes visible what we cannot see with our eyes. When it creates emotions and fantasies.
When it shows what I love. When I like the moods, the colours.

And that brings us to the first point.
Peter Meierhuber may be a fan of cave dolphins, but I’m not drawn to cave dolphins.

How often do I hear, „oh, what a bad picture!“

How can a picture be bad, please?
A picture can be blurry, yes ok.
But nowadays these blurry pictures are all the rage and are mega off.
I’ll be honest: I can’t do anything with blurred pictures.
The blurred stuff is not photography for me, it’s more like art.

But hey, it’s not for me to say: how bad is this picture?
And already three times not to write a nasty comment under a picture that does not correspond to my personal taste.
Also, I might really like the person who took the picture. And it is the taste of that person.

And I’ve been asking myself for a while now, what kind of people are they who do that?
And also, with what justification?

If someone doesn’t like birds or owls – yes, people, let’s go.
Look at the picture, wonder about me and move on.
Do you have to write underneath: really bad picture?
„Very bad picture, but you would have wished for a different light in this picture….“
Yes, me too, people, me too! I would have liked a super sunrise light here. The warm sun illuminating the goshawk and lighting up the background and creating a great bokeh.
Unfortunately there was no goshawk in the morning light….. !!!

„Probably taken in a hut? Very bad, we don’t want that…..“
Photo huts are often frowned upon. Camouflage nets, on the other hand, are not.
The rumour circulates that you sit in a photo hut and have top pictures.
What nonsense…..
But that kind of thing always comes from other photographers.
With this picture it was even rumoured that I had asked a falconer if he would put his bird there and I could take pictures.
Top secret: Maybe it was even stuffed….. (here comes the hand to forehead smilie).

You could really laugh about it now, but that actually happened.
„Very bad picture, the little owls are stuffed“.

In all seriousness, it was claimed on the net (and not discussed, but asserted) that the little owls were stuffed because the legs were not right and in some pictures they even had legs of different lengths….. ah ähhhh yes
Irony on: I go there with Claudi and have a bag of stuffed little owls with me. Claudi always puts them somewhere and then I photograph them……

„Very bad picture“
Has it been abandoned? Has it been abandoned by its mother?
It doesn’t look healthy at all and it’s super skinny. Does it have worms or maybe a tick?
There are dozens of these and other comments under a picture.
Honestly? Even if a squirrel has a tick, and that happens super often, no photographer runs around with a net and tick tongs and removes ticks from wild animals.
You develop pictures and seriously think about what kind of comments will come if you leave the tick where it is or better remove it with Photoshop …… Help

But it’s worst in photo groups or men’s topics.
That’s where the abyss opens up for me…….
Or is that just how it seems to me?
On photo sites, every photographer knows everything – really everything – and he comments directly under your photo that you should have calculated the diffraction blur….
So it’s a very bad picture !

Someone posts a naked woman…

… and don’t get me wrong. There is incredibly beautiful nude photography !
Personally, I can’t understand why so many photographers take pictures of naked women, but I don’t want to share my thoughts about it here – and of course not among their pictures
Very bad pictures?
No, why should they?
If someone likes naked Elsen, he should take pictures of them, they might wonder how someone can take pictures of dogs.

But that goes even further …
Photographer A posts a queen. Naked. Directly a comment from photographer B.
Very bad picture.
And then they go into detail about the woman in the picture, with comments that sometimes make you feel ashamed.
She has pimples, a slight belly line, etc.
If you look at the photographer…. but well, I would never write that underneath either.

Totally posed. How often do I have to hear that?

A model is not posed, of course.
She just happens to be standing naked next to the castle fountain waiting for a photographer to come along.

A horse on the beach?
Amazing, the atmosphere is so natural… – It’s also just random. A horse on the beach.

A dog sitting on a rock. It just happens, it’s normal.

Wildlife, that’s honest.
There aren’t 47 off-road vehicles full of photographers waiting for their turn …

PLEASE WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH POSITIONING A MODEL NEXT TO A FOUNTAIN, PUTTING A HORSE ON THE BEACH, A DOG ON A ROCK…?
THAT ONE SIMPLY ACCEPTS THE PICTURES OF OTHERS?
THAT YOU RESPECT OTHER PEOPLE/PHOTOGRAPHERS?

If someone thinks they know my animals and me very well, let them believe it.
By the way, I don’t know most photographers very well.
Not their lives, not their feelings, not their taste and I would never write such or similar claims under their pictures.
But I do know my animals !!!

When was the time when all these haters could find their place in the socials?

But the question what is a good picture is still not answered.

On Google, you can find the general answer right at number 1:

When the sun is shining, use aperture eight. …
Photograph movement with an open aperture. …
Open aperture = blurred background. …
Closed aperture = great depth of field. …
Photo tip: Use the golden hour. …
Lunch break. …
Don’t forget the blue hour.
